Determining the Best Treatment Based on Your Skin Type
Everybody’s skin is unique, therefore your skin care treatment should be too! Whether you have dry skin, oily skin, combination skin, normal skin or sensitive skin, our board certified dermatologist will work with you to develop a skin care routine that will target your problem areas and reveal healthy, glowing skin. Not sure what skin type you have? Below is a brief description of each skin type. Our medical professionals will also assist you in determining your skin type and finding the best treatment options for your needs.
Oily skin tends to have a shiny or greasy appearance, large or obvious pores on the skin, thick or rough appearance, occasional or persistent pimples, or clogged pores and blackheads.
Combination skin is a combination of both oily and dry skin, specifically oily around the t-zone area(forehead, chin and nose) and drier on the rest of the face. Those with combination skin may experience mild breakouts and dryness at the same time.
Dry skin may have a rough and/or flaky texture, cracks in the skin, can feel itchy, painful, or may sting or burn.
Normal skin is well-balanced and experiences few imperfections. It is not overly sensitive. Pores are minimally visible. The complexion looks bright.
Sensitive skin is more reactive and can become itchy, experience burning and/or itching, and redness.
We Treat a Variety of General Dermatology Skin Conditions
Acne is a skin condition that occurs when the oil glands within the skin open and become plugged with oil and dead skin cells resulting in whiteheads, blackheads or pimples.
Dry skin, officially known as xerosis, is a skin condition which can cause itching, redness, flaking, peeling, cracking and other uncomfortable symptoms.
Eczema is a chronic skin condition in which the skin becomes red and itchy. Additional symptoms or conditions can include asthma or hay fever.
Genital warts are one of the most common types of sexually transmitted infections. Sexual intercourse and oral sex can transmit genital warts
Hives are skin condition in which welts appear on the skin, occurring individually or clustering together to form one large welt.
Hyperhidrosis can cause disruption to normal daily activities, as well as, social anxiety and embarrassment.
Monitoring moles and other pigmented patches is an important step in detecting skin cancer.
Rashes can range in severity and may cause changes in skin color or texture, discomfort, irritation and even pain.

Scabies is an itchy skin condition caused by a tiny burrowing mite that live and feed within the skin.
Skin cancer can affect all skin types. Areas exposed to the sun are the most common areas for skin cancer to develop. However, areas that rarely see the light of day can still develop skin cancer.
