What is Microneedling? How Does Microneedling Work?

Microneedling is a great treatment that addresses a variety of skin concerns, including aging skin, scarring, skin texture and more.  During your treatment session, your provider will cleanse your skin and apply a numbing cream to minimize discomfort.  Next, we will utilize our microneedling device to create small punctures or channels to the areas of your skin we are treating. These punctures/channels will stimulate your body’s natural healing process which will promote effective remodeling of collagen and elastin – two essential skin proteins responsible for healthy skin. The depth of the needling can be adjusted depending on the type of skin concerns we are treating. After your treatment, your skin may appear slightly red and feel sensitive, similar to a sunburn. This usually subsides within a day or two. It’s essential to follow your providers post-treatment instructions  This may include avoiding sun exposure, wearing sunscreen, and using gentle skincare products.
