Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) with Levulan®
For patients with sun damage, actinic keratoses (precancerous lesions), or high risk of skin cancer, we offer Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) using Levulan®. This treatment uses a light-activated solution that targets and destroys abnormal cells while preserving healthy skin. PDT not only treats existing precancerous lesions but also helps reduce the likelihood of future skin cancers, making it a powerful prevention tool.

Symptoms of Skin Cancer
Cancer may present itself as a rash, a sore, a scaly patch of skin, a scar with a waxy texture, a growth beneath the skin or even a pimple that doesn’t seem to go away. Skin cancer typically develops on areas of the body that are often exposed to the sun, such as the face, neck, arms or hands, etc. It is also common for skin cancers to have an appearance similar to a mole or to start within a mole.

Sun Safety Tips
- Apply sunscreen daily—even on cloudy days and indoors near windows.
- Reapply every 2 hours or after swimming/sweating.
- Seek shade between 10 AM and 4 PM when UV rays are strongest.
- Wear protective clothing, a wide-brimmed hat, and UV-blocking sunglasses.
- Perform monthly self-skin checks and schedule yearly professional skin exams.
